STILL
STILL started as a technical exploration into the capabilities of the analog film camera and an interest in a person's ability to sit still. Each individual was given the same prompt. They were told that the camera exposure time would be anywhere from two to eight minutes and that all I required from them was to contemplate the ideas of peace and calm over that duration. They were asked to ignore the camera. Over time the photographs began to explore what it means to be still. Just as the prompt I gave each individual remained vague and was differently interpreted, our God calls out to us, “be still.” How we do that is up to interpretation.
